Tonight was Olivia's turn. She's been watching and participating in the nightly creations, but tonight we were so pressed for time (we went to a great party honoring a very special person, Candace Karu, who also happens to be a lifestyle commentator for Cabot Creamery), we put the responsibility square on our 8 year old. Do we hear child labor law violations?
She created fitayas stuffed with crushed tortilla chips, grated cheddar cheese, store bought salsa, and rinsed canned black beans. Results: not bad for her age, limited ingredients and time, but not something we would recommend to our readers to make. Definitely no thumbs up on this one, more of a thumbs sideways.
Next time we will offer Olivia more time, guidance and better ingredients. As a starting point, we will be begin with a variety of Cabot cheese, right Candace?
